Originally
built as a croft dating back to the 16th Century, Farleyer is
situated in the heart of the old Castle Menzies Estate.
Following the 1745
rebellion, when Charles Stuart was given refuge in the Castle, the
croft was enlarged to become the baliffs residence. Later on when
Lady Stair married Sir Neil Menzies, Farleyer, by then the Dower
House, was again enlarged to it's present size to become the main
residence for the Head of the Clan Menzies.
As such, historically
Farleyer became known far and wide for it's own particular style of
exceptional hospitality, tranquility and warmth. A flavour of that
special hospitality awaits you at Farleyer today, only greatly
enhanced by some of the most imaginative and exciting cuisine to be
found in Britain.
Farleyer stands in some
of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. A leisurely stroll around
the grounds will produce the most wonderful feeling of peace and
tranquility.
Farleyer can truly host
the international traveller whether on business or simply relaxing
with the family. Discrete private dining, board meetings and small
private functions are equally welcome at Farleyer. |
