The George Hotel

Tucked away just north of Russell Square on the edge of Bloomsbury is a half-circle of Georgian town-houses (built c. 1807) overlooking Cartwright Gardens, once the homes of the rich but many of them now converted to hotels. Cartwright Gardens was named in honour of John Cartwright, a political reformer and military officer, who supported independence to the colonies (including America) and refused to fight against them. A bronze statue of Cartwright now sits in the park in the neighbourhood where he once lived.

This is the perfect location for a stay in London - quiet but within walking distance of the British Museum and the West End, ideal for theatres and shopping. If you prefer to use the tube, the hotel is only 2 stops from Oxford Circus and Covent Garden and only 3 stops from Leicester Square.

The gardens are private but the hotel has a key for guest’s access and use of the tennis courts and we’ll provide racquets and tennis balls free of charge.

Easy and direct access is available straight from Heathrow Airport by tube (to Russell Square station on the Piccadilly line) or by A2 Airbus (to Euston or Russell Square).

Booking Request

To secure a reservation let us have your credit card details (Visa, Master Card, Switch, Delta) by letter, fax, on-line, phone or e-mail and we will take a deposit equal to the cost of your first night’s stay. There are no problems if your plans change and you need to cancel; your deposit will be refunded in full provided you let us know by the day before you are due to arrive.

If you have any questions, just contact us. Because of the different times zones there could be a delay in response, but we will always come back to you within an absolute maximum of 12 hours.
